New guidebook now available in Welsh

Northern Eye Books, the official publishers for the existing guidebook series in English have now created one of those books into the Welsh language, for one of the most popular sections of the Wales Coast Path.

The official guidebook to walking the Llŷn Peninsula section covers 110 miles / 180km of one of the most rugged and enjoyable sections of the path. This book is ideal for local and long-distance walkers.

What's in the book

Covering from Bangor to Porthmadog, the book includes an overview of the area’s history, wildlife information, distance charts and useful information on accommodation, local information and public transport links.

We’re very excited to be launching this guidebook during our 10th anniversary in 2022. Offering an official Welsh language guidebook for the path gives visitors the opportunity to learn about it in the native language of Wales. It’s also a great way for Welsh learners to practise reading Welsh in a practical way.

Llwybr Arfordir Cymru – Penrhyn Llyn Bangor i Borthmadog is written by Carl Rogers and Tony Bowerman (originally in English language) and translated into Welsh language by Elfed Gruffudd on behalf of Atebol.  This is the official Welsh language guidebook for the Llyn Peninsula section of the Wales Coast Path and is endorsed by Natural Resources Wales.
